chanka slowing down randomnly?

hey guys. recently ive been having trouble with speed issues. half the time i start up my comp it runs perfectly, but the other half chankast runs half the normal speed. i dunno why this its happening, and i have no clue why. anyone have this same problem? ys it always fluctuating? and usually when i turn on my comp it either stays at normal speed or stays at the slower speed until i shut down/restart my comp. any suggestions? thanks :santa:

Slowdowns is a common problem when your PC runs out of RAM and it stores the data in the page file. The only 2 possible solutions are to close any other aplications when running Chankast or get more RAM.

Odd, I've never encountered that even with 192MB ram in this PC, and the pagefile at 200 max.

well, my comp specs are...
p4 2.66 ghz
512 pc2770 ram
geforce 4 mx440 se (i know, sucks crap. but, im on a budget)
nething else? i dunno y its happening. maybe the comp's too hot?

o yea and nothings turned on when i start chankast. even when i start my comp and let it idle for 10 min, half the time it slows down.

Many programs that start with windows can cause slowdowns. Press ALT+CTRL+DEL and close any applications that you don't need while running chankast. It's also good to disable all the scheduled tasks from the control panel (if there are any).

EDIT: Make sure that you're not playing from a CD, it will slow down the emulator. Use CD images.

Well as you have a P4 the CPU could be getting too hot, forcing clock down throttling.. check into it.

chankast slows down randomly for me too, i mean, it runs great and everything, i get full speed on quite a few games.. but then sometimes it'll just freeze up then come back.. im wondering if this is universal because chankast is still in early stages?

I get very bad slowdowns when games are loading from cd, the result is better if i make a image and use daemon tools instead! Is there som settings on the cd drive that could make things better?
