I would assume that you have a self-extracting archive. Just double-click to extract it.

It is not a self exreactor it is .exe file it works with 1964 and pj64
but goodn64 doesnt recognise itwould like to make it as the other files are

At your service, dood!
.Exe are programs and are most likely self extracting files, exes contain executable code, if its not a self extractor its not containing a rom.

I don't know why someone would tag the .exe extension on, but the internet is a strange place.:)

You can use Tool64 to see the proper extension. It's then just a matter of renaming.

I know why. On kazaa, it's "other" unless it has an ".exe" extension making it software. For that reason, kazaa is crawling with exe's when they should be .zip's or something else, which also leads to tons of viruses.

To rename it: Open the folder. Click on it once. It'll be highlighted. Click on it again (don't make the clicks too close together or it'll think it's a double click and run it - alternatively you can right click and select rename.) Erase the "exe" and change it to "n64" (I suggest n64 as z64 suggests a specific byte order which is unknown at this point. Use tool64 if you want to put in the proper byte order and extension.)

well that didnt work it thinks its a program. hmm and it runs fine under pj64 no errors but pj64 doesnt recognise it unless u select it and run it

then it works fine just like to keep things orderly so any other ideas would be appreciated

you tried opening it up with winrar to make sure it isnt compressed?

most emulators can play zipped roms so if it were compressed it would still work with pj
