The PSX ISOs that I have come with these extra files besides the actual ISO. Are they necessary to play the ISOs in an emulator, or is it safe to delete them?

CCD and CUE files contain extra information about the CD image files (such as timestamps for audio tracks if there are any). SUB file contains the subchannel data. That being said, if you only load the ISO file and the game has CD tracks for background music, you'll get no background music, since the ISO contains no CDDA audio data.

If you are using ISO files or any other image files directly with the emulator, the extra files aren't really useful, but if you plan on mounting said CD image file(s) to a virtual drive or burning the burning the ISO to a disc, you need these these files if the CD image requires them. Not all CD image formats require these extraneous files. Subchannel data is needed when if you want to burn 1:1 copies.

I say keep them, because they aren't that big anyway.

Sorry to revive this most ancient post; how would one, theoretically, make a bootable ISO from said .sub, .ccd, .cue., and .img files? I have ImgBurn and I'm unable to select the .sub and .ccd files to write them on my disk.

Mount said image files using a Virtual Drive like Daemon Tools, and then do a Disc-to-Disc copy. Or make an ISO image out of the mounted disc.

Alright, it went well as far as mounting the image goes. Now when I try to create an iso out of the files it hangs up on a file called "Dummy.XA". When I try to make an iso out of the 'disk' it hangs up on a I/O error. What do think is up?
