eVoodoo.cpl + Glide3x.dll goes in emulator directory.

Glide64.dll goes in the plugin folder.

Extract the evoodoo399 archive it to your PJ64 directory (NOT the plugins directory). Also take a look at Hacktarux's wrapper. It is very good and currently my first choice over evoodoo: Hacktarux's Wrapper.

EDIT: You beat me by one minute, Clements! Well, I just had to search for that wrapper post...

Thanks for the help guys! Ive put the evoodoo and Hacktarux wrapper in the PJ64 directory and the newest glide64 in the plugin directory. Whats this about glide3.xx? What is this? One of the official drivers for glide?

Nearly their lads! Thanks

It's actually the wrapper itself, not an official Glide driver. Bare in mnd that you can only use one wrapper at a time and can't select them from a menu or anything like that.

Yes. Both wrappers share the name glide3x.dll since that is what the Glide64 plugin looks for. Glide3x.dll (as well as glide2x.dll for older glide applications) is the library that glide applications need in order to render the 3D graphics. For voodoo card owners they are found in your system32 (or system for Windows versions prior to 2000) directory since they are part of the GFX card drivers. Wrappers mimic the real library and translate all glide calls into opengl or directx calls in order to render the 3D graphics since non-Voodoo cards don't support glide directly. Since wrappers are generally written for specific applications, they are placed in the application directory instead of the system32 directory.

True. Then other glide games that use glide3x.dll may work as well even though the wrapper was written with Glide64 in mind.

I should clarify one thing I said while I'm at it.

Instead I should say, "Since wrappers are generally written with specific applications in mind, they are usually placed in the application directory instead of the system32 directory." But you're right- it can be placed in the system/system32 directory as well.

Just to carry this thread on a little...

I have done everything u said. Im using hacktarux glide wrapper 0[1].1 beta 4 in the emulator directory. I noticed that the link Clements gave me to another thread shows pictures of PD with the radiation effects working on level 2. At the moment i cant even play the level!

Im running in 800x600 or 640x480. I have all options on default for Glide64 ME.

I can watch the intro but as soon as that ends it comes up with this:

"Gfx plugin caused an exception and has been disabled. Turn it back on to try and continue?" If i say yes i hear sound but a grey screen with a message in the middle titled "Glide64: Cannot show gfx in windowed mode. Please press ALT+TAB for fullscreen. Which you cant as it wont let you (sorry the message is not 100% as it disapreared as i typed and all i have now is sound and 100% grey!)

The Smart reading option is blanked out. Does this mean i cant have the radiation effect even if i do get this sorted out?

I have tried replaceing the glide.xx in the emu directory with the latest evoodoo one and it comes up the same.

Pls help! I love this game. Thanks all!

Edit: Just to add. I have noticed that the evoodoo.control panel extention is in the emu directory. Will that still effect hacktarux glide? Remember i have replaced evoodoo with this instead. Just a thought...

?????????????????????????
It seems you are messing something up here...
Place hacktarux's glide wrapper in the same dir as the emulator. You must get rid of the evoodoo wrapper first! So put hack's wrapper there and overwrite the old one. And the fact that the evoodoo config is there...it doesn't matter. You may delete it; but either way, it will cause no harm.

Thanks for the reply.

I deleted the whole emulator and started again.

Placed Glide64 0.7ME in plugins
Placed Glide.xx for hacktarux's in emu directory
Selected Glide in emu

When i tried to play PD i noticed as last time that the menus are a pale blue, which i dont mind as long as the game works right? Wrong!

I can play a few levels but level 2 does not work still! It will play the intro and then comes up with the same Glide 64 specific error i mentioned before about cant continue. Try and continue Y/N. Either way you get grey screen with writing in the middle saying cant display gfx press ALT & TAB to go full screen. But you cant!!! Arrrrrrrrr etc he he.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Just Another Wacko ;)
From Glide 0.7 configuration disable all framebuffer effects.
Make sure that you have the latest version of hacktarux's glide wrapper.
This should work.

I may not have the latest. Where do i get it from pls? I looked in the downloads section but i dont see it. Any ideas?

Glide config? You mean go into menu for options then graphics plugin options?
I dont see disable all framebuffer effects there for it. Do you mean frame buffer emulation? I do have everything as default. Ive not touched a thing! lol

Thanks!

You can get the latest version from this thread.
And yes I mean disabling some or all of the frame buffer emulation options (find out which options are stable for you).
