Can the rumble feature on a DualShock 3 PS3 controller be used?

I have been using my legacy PS3 controller with Project64 for the past 6~7 months, but I accidently borked the controller late last week. So I went out this morning, got myself one of the newer DualShock 3 PS3 controller (because there were no legacy controllers in stock) and managed to connect it to Project64 sucessfully. But the problem is that I can’t seem to get the N-Rage Input plugin (V2) to use the rumble feature on the controller via the Rumble Pak option on the Controller Pak page. I would much appreciate it if anyone can help. Thanks, James.

Edit:
Not meant to brag but before anyone comments, I didn’t just buy the controller for the Project64, I do have a PS3 as well (unfortunately you can’t play legendary games like Zelda: OoT MQ on it). =p

Thanks for replying! From what I can tell, the newer PS3 controller (DualShock 3) does indeed support force feedback. Whether this relates to DirectInput Rumble (if that is what it is called) I do not know. Thanks again.

I am assuming you are using the Sixaxis driver for Windows?

As far as I can tell, rumble isn't supported with the Dualshock 3 on the PC.

Yes I am using the aforementioned driver aside from another driver named something similar to Lib-USB.
As far as I can tell, rumble isn't supported with the Dualshock 3 on the PC.
Thanks for letting me know. However, if you find any information on enabling/working-around such feature on the PC, please let me know. Many thanks, James.

James 0264,

This appears to be an older post, but I hope your still around, or perhaps somebody else who can help...

I am trying to connect my PS3 DualShock 3 Controller to my PC for Project64, just like James has done, however, unlike James, I have been unsuccessful in getting it to work in the first place (I don't need the rumble features, just the ability to use the controller to begin with)

Can anybody lead me to a driver that will help me?

All help is appreciated, thanks!

-Henry
