Button sensitivity issues with Super Mario 64 DS

When trying to run with the keyboard in Super Mario 64 DS, the characters only walk. Is there any way to adjust the button sensitivity for just this game?

are you holding down the 'run' button when moving? (the one that throws fireballs if/when you have them also makes you run)

And sorry, I forgot that in SM64DS you had to press a button to run.
