Building A Computer

The cheapest I've seen for an LCD 17" is $333. It's an HP with built in speakers. You should have no problem with this lasting you through the rest of schooling. I would imagine that in a few years, the price will drop. But don't expect anything dramatic anytime soon. Oh, and I found this monitor from Price Watch (the addy is in my previous post). Just click on monitors on the first page and the list at the bottom will change, and click on LCD 17in. But as far as I've seen, that is the cheapest.

me i tell you from my past pc s i have built, pentium3 is way better than amd, when running in winxp vs running with a amd duron cpu. when i run winxp on my 2ed pc with winxp it every time restarts when i am on the web, every time in till 8:00pm at night.and besides ........
......it way out beats amds new ddr ram!

i have abook at home that come pairs every cpu out there, and comeing out samething with hds gfx cards and memory.so i know what i am talking about.

at first amds cpus sounded good but if you look on ebay for your parts you will save alot of cash.and get more for your $!

i chould build you areal fast pc for under $800.00

there easy.

i have only put $300.00 into mine and i love it.

besides winxp was built for pentium3 cpus.

i have never heard so much rubbish lol.

1) rdram for a p3 is like sdram for a p4 - totally useless. P3's couldnt make use of the bandwidth of ddr, let alone rdram.
2) 'you care to prove your statements? i can do every test under the sun that will disporve you.
3) that book is no good - its out of date as soon as it goes to print - throw it away
4) if anything, winxp was built for athlonXP's. check out the ad's that amd put out when they launched the athlonXP.
5) just one more time - prove it

For the record, my AMD athlonXP pc running at 2.4ghz has never had a problem with winxp rebooting/crashing or whatever. Also, saying it will crush any p3 is truely an understatement.
if you get pentium3 mainboard that can use rdram which is 400mhz by my asus p3c-e rambus manual.
yes it is. but its 100x4 - meaning your memory bus is actually running at 100mhz fsb. Worse still, its a damn p3 - useless. Compare that to my athlonXP running at 454mhz (227x2) and you might start to see the picture.......
