What is the best gamecube emulator in terms of performance, i have a pretty crappy laptop and i don't know what will be best to run games on.

If you have a "pretty crappy" laptop, most likely no GameCube emulator will work properly. Anyway, Dolphin is more or less the the one most people use.

Note that Dolphin isn't without issues, so don't expect it to boot/play every single commercial game and run them at constant 60fps.
