i'm pretty new to n64 emulators, so please be patient...

anyway, i was wondering what the best n64 emulator was.. and yes, i realize that it really depends on what you want, and yes, i understand it differs depending on setup..

so what i really want is mario party 1 2 or 3.. maybe mario tennis.. maybe smash bros.. some cool 4 player party games..... those are my immediate needs.. of course i'd like to also play zelda and other rpg games at some time..

what my setup is, is what my roommate calls the emubox http://s89078276.onlinehome.us/emubox/emubox.html ... he built it out of spare parts, so it's not very fast.. celeron 550 oc'd to 600 to be exact.. onboard sound and video.. so i know it's not a super system.. what i'd like to know is which emulator works best on slow systems? i'd easily give up "perks" for playability... i'd be willing to test out your suggestions, and let everyone know how it works.. but anyhow, any suggestions are welcome.. thanks

edit: also, if anyone has suggestions for good party games ie: mario party 1 2 or 3 (which is the best btw??) it'd be much appreciated..

With onboard video don't expect to get good results. You should give 1964 0.99 a try along with glide64+evoodoo for best results.

Take a look of this piece of junk

Athlon 2100+ xp
256Mb Dimm ram
ATi Radeon 7200
Generic Asrock Board 233 mhz fsb

The most significative change in the performance of the emulation, is the work of the video card, this one can emulate a lot of things, turok map, goldeneye water and sky and other things, i am sure tha you have money for a card like this or higher.

The Project64 1.5 and 1964 099 shows the best results over all. others emus, are just closer.
