Azimer releases (final?) Apollo sources

I just received word from my old time friend Azimer, who's been one of the top contributing N64 emulation programmers for many years, with his own emulator Apollo and his involvement in other N64 emulators. Azimer is perhaps even more well known for his excellent audio plugin for zilmar specs emulators, simply called Azimer's Audio plugin.

Azimer has now decided to release the source code for Apollo 0.10 and Azimer's Audio v0.55.1, both of which have never been released in binary form before, and probably never will be. It's quite possible this is the last contribution you'll see from Azimer, at least when it comes to N64 emulation projects.

I hope you all realize and appreciate how much Azimer has done for the N64 emulation scene, both directly and indirectly. Pay your respects in these two threads: <a href="http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=18182">Apollo 0.10</a>, <a href="http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?threadid=18183">Azimer's Audio v0.55.1</a>.

Download both sources at the official site:

Nice of you to release the source Azimer, and yes you could probably be a big help in the GC scene!

Why is there no binary?
stupid question, eh?
(No, don't hurt me!)
I'm asking because i only started to learn Java... and don't know how to compile this plugin or this emulator.

@last 2 posters, Who cares, don't you people understand what this is and means? Rather than use it as an excuse not to buy an N64, how about you be thankful! Azimer is an amazingly talented programmer and almost single handedly is THE N64 audio scene dev. Not to mention Apollo and its rediculous speed. Be thankful that Azimer was kind enough to release his sources, the secrets to his hard work!

On another note, it's great to hear Azimer is still alive. Best of luck to him and his talent in whatever future endevors he encountors!

i respect his work, but i don't understand why only the programers of the "emu-freaks" should be able to use apollo?

I know the feeling, I figured I would be able to get the actual emulator, but it looks like I only have the binary code of it all, I do not know a lot about programming .dll files, therefore I cannot use this until someone uses this source code to make an audio plugin.

I must admit I did not expect to see any source code to come from Azimer, hes been keeping his sources secret for all these years, so I at least appreciate that.

If enough people asked nicely enough... I will release a binary. I didn't deem Apollo worth a binary... and the audio plugin is almost the exact same from the audio plugin binary available on the beta site. I didn't find a binary release worthwhile.

I say a binaries of both would certainly be worth while. The audio plugin is the best around and I think everyone would like to see a new version, no matter how small the changes are. I'm also sure everyone would like to at least try the new version of Apollo. I certainly would.
