This will be great! What do you think guys? Which graphics cards are better, the ones from ATI or the ones from Nvidia. Which has the best compatibility? Which has the best graphics perfomance? Which shows the best FPS?

Nvidia have the best compatability, but the newest ati cards beat 'em by a bit. Dont worry tho cuz the newest nvidia will be better :)

Yup, the nVidia drivers beat the shit out of Ati's. The radeon 9700 is the fastest card around at, though, and from what I hear Ati has fixed the majority of the bugs in their drivers. Also Ati has somwhat better image quality, although nVidia got very close after they started setting some quality guidelines for the manufacturers, ie the gf4 is very close to the radeons now.

i would go ATI if the drivers were up to par. Thats the only downfall I see with ATI, drivers have always been shit but the hardware has always been very nice.

Nvidia is better... no ATI is better... is not... is too... you stupid arse!!.... you mother fu**er... yeah we all know how this is going to turn out. This Poll/Question has been posted a thousand times but it always ends in arguing, just like the Intel vs AMD that I'm about to close as well.

Both companies' latest offerings are pretty neck to neck. The ATi driver thing is pretty much in the past, its just that people are still bitter from it. But im going to cheer for ATi because:

-i got a Radeon (99% reason why people sides with one company...they got a card from it)
-ATi is the underdog
-ATi has only one way to pronounce
-its Canadian :)

heh I have a hard time trusting ATI, their cards have given me nothing but hell since 1995. Go look up manuals for all of the more popular games between then and now, and you will always see a special section specificaly for ATI users telling them of a workaround for a specific issue caused by their hack drivers. If you want a modern example, go look at the number of ATI card issues on blizzards warcraft 3 tech support.

Yeah sounds like fud, but the company hasn't changed a bit in 7 years.

would you trust a company that has been promising unified drivers for the last 3 years... and you were sure they'd do it this time just out of embarrasment... and they still didn't deliver the drivers, good hardware, naff drivers

Who cares which one's better? They both make good cards, just buy whichever has the best price/quality ratio at the moment. I have a Radeon 8500 myself, and I'm perfectly happy with it. I'm sure I'd be just as happy with a GF 4 TI.

I had what I thought were driver problems when I bought my radeon (turned out that my crappy soltek mobo couldn't cope with the agp loads), but now I can keep my system running for weeks, even though I play games almost daily. So much for the crappy drivers...

Any of you play Neverwinter Nights? I hear nothing but horror stories from people running ATI and NWN. All the Nvidia camp seems to fawn over the thing, though....

as to my opinion: The Nvidia card is what like 3/4 of the developers write on (not emu authors. I don't wanna know.) so I figure if I buy one, I'm gonna get what the devs were looking at for quality, speed, and reliability. Anything else is just that. Now, if the devs were using a multi-platform solution, like a mix of ATI & Nvidia (they weren't cause nvidia roxxored ATI's A** for a long time) then I'd go with the whole price/performance thing.
