Hello, i´m using Windows XP Pro, Ati radeon 7200 with the latest drivers, AMD Athlon 1Ghz, Motherboard sound card VIA AC´97, 1 Gbyte Ram unit and Pj64 1.4.

The problem is that when i click to load a rom, the rom loads perfectly, but the emulation never starts.
I see a black screen.

If i select in rendering device RGB emulation, the emulation starts, but very slow then i change the rendering device to Direct3D hall and then the emulator works much better but some slowly.

I herad a faltering noise and all of this, using games that when i used WIN98 with a Geforce2 mx works perfectly like Mario Kart 64, zelda 2, wave race......

can anyone help me?

thanks

That´s a fantastic new :)

Please, could you say me, how do you have configured the video and audio pluggins, and what pluggins do you use?

And, if you are using the latest 7.68 drivers or the latest multilingual drivers from the ati web page.

The last thing, is if you are using the new beta rdx and rdb files from the Pj64 mensage board or the original files that are included in the Pj64 1.4 zip

Thank you very mucht

Nothig, i had reinstaled the drivers and all is the same.

Now i see, that when i see the black screen, in the emulator, above apperas, CPU resumed, and my cpu is 100% usaged, and 97-99 % is to Pj64

What´s happend??

May be the 1Gbyte ram unit?

Hello again, all the day i was making test and this is the conclusion:

I reinstaled WInXP and tryed to used PJ only with the drivers that WINXP have.
So using defaul Ati radeon 7200 driver and PJ works perfectly

Then I downloaded the latest ati drivers, instaled it and the problem with the emulator apperars again.

I supposed that could be a problem with another thing, so i tried to use it, without programs, or external driver, i unistall all the soft and devices, but the problem apperars again.

Then i´m confused because i thought that the problems were the drivers, but pauncho use it and play perfectly

Can anyone help me?

sorry for my english

ive the very same problem, just its not ALL Roms. Goldeneye, or Zelda would work, where F-Zero just hangs( it hangs really bad, i can close PJ64 but the process wont be terminated ). No difference with all drivers i had.

Funny thing is with 1964 & same plugins it works. Also everything works when i run Windows98.

PJ 1.3 doesnt have that problem( dint tried changing GFX-Plugins from 1.4 > 1.3 yet )

Hello N-Rage i´ve just readed your post and tried all the things that you say and yoy are right.

Using PJ64 1.4 I can run:

Zelda oot
Golden eye
Mario kart

And the PJ64 cpu usage is 44-50 %

I can´t run

Zelda mom
Fzero

With this roms, i can closed PJ64 but the procces won´t be terminated(like you)

I tried the same roms that you say

This is a Know bug, that will be fix?

Please, can you post me your hardware?

I´ll try to used PJ 1.3 whith 1.4 pluggins, then i´ll post

Bye

Nothig, the problem happend again.

Are you fixed the problem N-Rage?

nope, I did play around with it the days before 1.4 got released. its been broken since the last 1.4 prerelease. I had various other probs with WinXP so i thought it wudda be my system.

i`ve a Athlon900( Slot-A ), Radeon 64DDR, SB Audigy, 396 MB RAM, WinXP.

I think( just a GUESS ;) ) the fault lies within PJ64 1.4 itself... maybe im gonna play with the source when i find time.

Great!!!!!!!!!

You are right slougi , i had changed the compatibility mode to Win98 and the emulator works perfectly, i can emulate all roms zelda 2, Fzero.... but some slow.

Using compatibility WIN2K works perfectly and faster than Compatibility WIN98 but some slow too i think.

I´m going to do more test and then i´ll post.

Thanks slogui and N-Rage for reply mi post ;)
