Athlon XP 2600+ Probs @ 166mhz setting

hey guys, i bought a 2600+ today and tried it with my gigabyte ga-7va kt400, but when i run it at the right setting (166mhz) it just gives my screen a blank image like it has crashed, but when i try it at 133, it recodnises it as a 2000+, but i don't want to run it at that setting, any ideas?

I've got the vaxp version of that board (good board ), maybey you have top performance on turning it of could help.

When you run the CPU faster you usually have to change the voltage. You have a manual for it?

yeah, i'm using a coolermaster that goes up to an XP 3000+

no idea what the prob is,

ive upgraded the bios, and it recodnises the processor, beeps, then the screen goes blank :ranting:

yeah i do, it reccomends it to be automatic (default)

theres no way my mobo would work with a 333mhz bus :doh:, so i took the processor back, and got a 2400+ (266Mhz bus) hopefully there shouldnt be much difference, it's working pretty fine at the moment
