No matter what sound plugin I use I always get skipping sound and it isn't because of a lack of speed I have an Athlon XP 2000 with 512 ram and an Sound Blaster 5.1. Is there anyway to make it so the sound isn't fizzley and crackly?
well that may have to do with sound synchronization so try to get Azimer's 0.50 beta 2 which syncs sound but still runs the VI/s at 60 or the FPS at max. i forgot the link so can someone give him a link to it?
I use Jabo's DirectSound and I get no crackles at all. The only plugs that give me crackles are the Azimer HLE sound plugins. Try Azimers LLE Plugin as that is as good as Jabos.
I believe the crackly sound has to do with Sound Blaster cards from what I've read previously. I don't know the specifics, but I do know that people without sound blaster cards tend to not have the crackly sound. I'll test it with my onboard SiS7012 card (using SBLive! Value... and yes, I also have crackly sound. )
EDIT: Can't test them together right now, unfortunately. It could be something that SbLive installs that makes the game crackly. Hmmm. I'll try to remember to test this on my next format.
i have a sound blaster live card also, but it runs the plugins perfectly, but for azimer's HLE plugin it doesnt because of sound synchronization, read my post above! :getlost:
nope. in short. the emus would have to be timed properly. and that would raise the system requirements something horrid, even if someone can manage to do it.
Well, Schibo promised that in the next version of 1964 the sound skipping belongs to history, and he promised that it's faster too, but I hope I won't die before this release !
