Has anyone had any luck getting Mega Man 64 to work? I have the ini settings so the graphics generally work, but it always freezes (drops to black screen, as normal, but doesn't continue) just after entering the second part of the forrest. It's a good chunk into the game.

I've grown really fond of this title, having played up until the hang point four or five times...would REALLY like to get it working.

PS - any suggestions as to other emus it might run on are welcome, but pj64 seems to be the only one i can get to work with my sidewinder...

thanks!

?????????????????????????
Megaman64 is fully playable, as I've tested it myself. It does seem to hang at some certain points, though :plain2:

Make sure to use the "normal" settings. No modified ones! Also, try to check the framebuffer. Under options-->advanced, if it's set to none or emulate clear. Those 2 I know it works with.

Also, 1964 and Daedalus are also two other emulators I know it works with. It's just that in this game, the graphics is sooooooooooooooo bad!! :(

It works on Jabo's plugin. You guys just need to learn how to use it. sheesh. Ogy, press your face closer to Dave's butt next time. And yes... I got lucky with megaman!

lmao too

try using "force normal blending" in the advanced sections when you need it, it should solve most of the problems one might have, this info should be in the RDB or the Game FAQ by Smiff, pick em up

it's also worth noting this was one of those games I didn't have a chance to entirely get how I would of liked it, the game itself in my view isn't that great anyway, I think capcom could of done a much better job with such a great system, all they did was port the PSX version which had crappy gfx

I don't think Azimer is jealous, he's quite an experienced programmer and emulation guy

I believe he was referring to the fact Ogy posted that people should start using voodoo cards, than proceeded to post that link, which, considering this is the Project64 forum, I would rather people gave more unbiased opinions, and use facts regarding the software to help users. Outside this forum I don't mind people exaggerating the truth, but that has no place here, or the 1964/Apollo forums, which perhaps is why Azimer got upset.

Well, Like Ogy said, Should Get a Voodoo for it to work, unless the plugin goes OGL but that wont be for some time... :)

where can i get Voodoo? well what is Voodoo lol? is it a 3D card or something?

Voodoo is a type of video card made by 3DFX who was bought out by NVidia. These cards are no longer made. You'd probably find a voodoo card @ small computer shops and @ second hand stores :)

that sounds like it could be a core issue, knowing what you mean by it stops working could be helpful, i would export a save state, and as I always recommend, check out 1964 and see what happens, maybe this is an issue we didn't know about ?

http://issues.pj64.net/upload/upload_form.html

go there to upload a file, smiff was supposed to add this to the issues page so we could do more file stuff, but i dunno what happened to that ;)

also let us know what kind of hardware you are sporting, if you don't meet the requirements PJ won't look that great on your system regardless of any issues already that exist, although Megaman64 is a rather simple game as i recall ...
