well, first, the V2 is only 3D, and runs great on glide but resolution CANT be higher than 800x600. A 2x V2 12MB in SLI will boost performance.

For the Banshee, it is more recent and have some more fonctions/more ram, is both 2D and 3D and can go to higher resolutions. But the only problem with Banshee is that it doesn't support mutli-texturing ( due to single TMU) so in some games, some effects won't show correctly. Like the sky transition day/night and the flames in the Zelda games and other stuff.

In fact you have choice, both card has pros and cons. it's to u to select what you prefer most/or what you don't care about.

Voodoo2. It works perfectly with Glide64, and it can be used with any other video cards => you can use it forever :)

btw, I'm also waiting for a Voodoo 2 for my "normal" PC ( a Diamond Monster 3D II) 12MB. I hope it will arrive soon. :)

That's really nice to hear. My V2 since the last FastVooDoo driver release has been awesome with Glide64.

Ok, sorry to sound like an idiot, obviously you only have 1 AGP, so basically, you install the Voodoo to a PCI slot and then switch your monitor around when you want to play N64 and it automatically recognizes the Voodoo card from Glide64?

in windows you choose which display adapter you wanna use (same way you choose which res) and then you change the cable, or you could use a KVM switch

not on Voodoo 2. Voodoo2 are PCI, and are 3D ONLY. you have to plug you original AGP card with a cable to the Voodoo 2 , and plug your monitor to the Back of the Voodoo. install drivers, and all the stuff will work as ONE video card. it will display you desktop/D3D using your normal Video card (like a bridge) and as soon as you want to use glide mode, it will switch and use the Voodoo2.!

simple :p

shit, that means i need one of those female to male cable's (i think) (the voodoo 2 i bought didn't come with that cable, and the other one did and it was only 5 bucks more, i am soooo dumb)
is a voodoo 3 2000 good?

hrmm, there was a Voodoo2 on ebay with the adapter cable for 20 bucks, as soon as I get a 20 I'm ordering me one of them suckas for good glide performance

seems like people is getting back to glide as I can see :p

yes, a V3 2000 is good but this time, you'll have to switch you monitor each time on the behind of your PC.

Ok one more question, anything I've read says that the voodoo takes over 3d processing, does that mean when I try to play something like UT2k3 or Deus Ex: Invisible war its going to try to do the processing on that? Because it obviously wouldn't work

well actually, if you ALREADY have a 3D card, when you'll install you Voodoo2, when you will use D3D , it will still use your primary card. But when you will use Glide OR OpenGL, it will take the Voodoo2 (yes OpenGL too). BUT there is a solution, since the OpenGL is set by something in the registry (that the V2 drivers change to be used with the Voodoo when you install the drivers) the simply way to make it use the OGL back with your normal card is...... reinstall the drivers of your primary card :p

Well then, that settles it, the next time I have a 20 dollar bill with nothing to do I'm buying a Voodoo2, I can't imagine why I didn't buy one at christmas when I had the money
