I have received word and files from the Dolphin (GameCube emulator for Windows) author once again, and the next Emu64 exclusive is here. Needless to say, bugs have been fixed since the last two Ikaruga videos, this video looks amazing, and check these sweet screenshots out and agree.

Looks very nice. Great work. I see the FPS seem to be inching up (in respect to other releases). Is this my imagination?

Just a little note: The video has also been linked from the previous Dolphin news post, but since I received a lot of screenshots as well and since the new video is amazing, I thought it deserved a new post. :)

It is pretty amazing stuff. Wowzer.

Still, both the recent screenshots are old games that came out on Dreamcast first, if I am remembering right. So, if Ikagura is running at 4.78FPS, then I hate to think what something like F-zero GX would be running at. So while this shit is amazing, I wouldn't be expecting to see a release the works anytime soon.

Still, is the video speed up? Because it seems to be a little laggy so maybe it is actual speed or just a little speed up.

I don't think that user would like an Icarus-style situation, ne? :D
So a release when they feel like it, but not too late would be definitely well balanced. Anyway, the work is still impressive, especially in light of the implementation of videos and new layers of gfx. And FPS speedup also, even though we can't know if it's a constant speed or just a peak.

OMFG, I leave for like 2 weeks and come back to this and all the other videos. Major Props to the author. BTW, is the 2 operations per pass handled yet or ever? And if so, how?

I think the old good Carmack Law ("It'll be out when it's ready" - DooM III) is still valid, but when the times become close to legend, then i think everything fades away, even the most desired things. It's better if the programmers release it when they feel they can, but not make it just an unreleased emu for bragging on the Net, as Icarus has become.

Ok, before you can even compare this to icarus, it would need to be shown for about a year and then never released, maybe longer, so stop saying that just because he hasnt released any version yet.

Stop the Icarus comparisons, it's already getting tiresome. I don't like the attitude of some people who have replied to this thread, give the author a chance. And like Hexadecimal says, it's not been publically introduced for long. You honestly can't think of any reason why the author wouldn't want to release it at this time? Think again. Thought so. Stop being selfish or I'll have to kick you where neither the sun shines nor the girls go. :getlost:

It's not the same author as Icarus btw, I can give away that much.

The author is free to do whatever he wants with the project, but trust me, the emulator will be released once it's "ready".

Sorry if I got misunderstood: I didn't mean to "not give the author a chance" nor have a n00b attitude. Icarus came out of nowhere in the matter as just a joke (I put out its name, sry), not a way to somewhat criticize the Dolphin author/s nor make our dear admin angry :) I completely agree, with Hex, and I stated it somewhere else in my posts: isn't that the first law of computing?

btw1: why do you need an emu if you can simply go to your cousin's 'n stole his GC? :p
btw2: merry Christmas everyone! :santa:
