Acrobat Reader

Doomulation

?????????????????????????
Okay to be plain with out, I HATE acrobat reader :yucky:. Therefore I dislike pdf documents. It was not long ago that I got furious with the reader and uninstalled it.
So now, my question: is there any program BESIDES acrobat reader that can interpret the pdf files, or at the very least, convert them into another format?

Well, THAT was a waste of time. What do they think we're living in - 1995? We don't need command based stuff today.

I guess I'll repeat here what I wrote in the Chip8 thread...

I use Adobe Reader 6.0 + Adobe Acrobat Speedup. It disables all the useless plugins and now it loads in about 1 second.

Also, Ghostview, which is tiny and opens instantaneously. It has a VERY minimal interface though :p. And yes, there is a Windows GUI version.

I tried that. The reader is still bloated. Like opening in firefox even though I specificially asked it NOT TO DO THAT. And sometimes it locks up when closing a pdf document, thus forcing you to terminate firefox (might be due to that stupid dialog says "blah blah blah, do you want to quit acrobat?), but sometimes that dialog hides.

So, I don't want acrobat.

Foxit will serve my needs. It start 10x faster than acrobat reader (even with all plugins disabled) and does not open in the web browser. Matter closed.
