About e-mail accounts

It is possbile to close a Hotmail's or a Yahoo's e-mail accounts for not using it ever again? if yes, how?

For Hotmail you can just leave it idle for a month or so, that should close it.

Yahoo is likely the same as far as closing. Can't say for sure though, because I stick with Hotmail and my main one at Comcast.
