Does anyone managed to get a GD-rom image, i mean COPY the whole GD rom to an image by the coders cable and make it in the HDD, and make it run on Chankast?

Wonder Chankast can run it or not....

if you extract a game from the original GD Rom to your PC using the coder cable, you will have to run a selfboot utility to make it bootable before itll work.

um ... what are you useing to run a game now?!?

i mean the intact game with no music cut, no downsampled FMV...etc, etc

the cd images we get are ripped image of the original GD-rom to fit on a CD-R
i wonder Chaskast can run those intact GD-rom image so as to achieve 100% eumlation of the original.

sorry...but i think you misunderstand my post...what i mean in the GD-rom
image..supposed to be 1GB large..but the the CD-image of a GD-rom, supposed to be maximum 700MB large.

P.S please refer to my last post.

Just Another Wacko ;)
Some games have to be ripped in order to fit on a common CD-R.
But there are some games that do not use all the GD-ROM capacity and can be easily copied on a CD-R without being ripped :)

Not someone else.
I'd lke to run a Chankast game on my Dreamcast. If I burn a Dreamcast game rip onto a GD-Rom with my DVD-writer do you think my Dreamcast would be able to emulate Chankast? What kind of CD-R would I need to use? And where did that chicken come from?

What a ridiculous thread!

well Chankast doesn´t have size limitations I suppose, it´s not like xbox emulating mame and ram limitations, it just emulates what you feed it with XD. if you take the whole gdrom to the pc, make it selfboot and record it to a dvd or mount it on a virtual unit it should run.

It doesnt just emulate what you feed it, otherwise it would be able to boot raw gd-rom images from hard disk without the need for a "selfboot" hack. In fact, this emulator encourages piracy in this respect, being that it only supports hacks of games designed to be played illegally on a dreamcast.

Rediculous indeed, this thread at least seems mildly concerned with legality, as compared with most of the others in the chanka board..

well I was obbiously talking about selfboot images, as everybody in this board knows. And it also supports homebrew games so the piracy stuff is not true at all, it´s you who decide to use illegal games with it
