a noob question.

With project 64, what does the "game device deadzone" do? It goes in a percentage from 0-100. I have messed around with it and haven't noticed much difference in anything... does it have to do with sensitivity? Also, to control the sensitivity of the controller that is done through the "range"... right?

Reason i'm asking is because when playing perfect dark/goldeneye my controller is too sensitive... using a psx dual analog controller by the way.

Deadzone means how far you have to push the analog stick before the stick movement is registered in the game. In otherwords, it controls to what point the stick is considered to be "dead" or not moving.

hm, ok so that's what deadzone controls then, what does the "range" do then?

Anyone know good settings for a game like goldeneye?

If I remember, range adjusts for the range of the N64's analog stick. For me (in Golden Eye) 66% for my range with "Real N64 Range" checked, as well as my Deadzone set to 10% seems to be just fine with my PS2 Dual Shock controller.

I'm using N-Rage's Direct Input V2 1.83, it supports rumble and has the feature I was telling you about. You can download it at NG Emulation from this page:

NGEmu - Plugins

Just go to the "Input plugins" section, and it's the top one. It removed that annoying "always rumbling full tilt" issue I had with the Jabo's Direct Input plugin.

Rabiddiety has made his final version of the N-Rage plugin? I just might have to check it out, is it in the old thread?
