Features:

* emulates the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Super Game Boy
* very compatible, only a few games have serious problems, see compatibility list
* very accurate graphics and sound based on VisualBoyAdvance source
* video size select
* you can choose from two color palettes in Game Boy mode
* battery backed RAM saved to a file
* Game Boy Camera emulation
* Rumble emulation/simulation
* Gameboy link emulation

Looks like it is possible but I don't use GEST so can't tell you how to do it...

Do you use a different emulater that has "link emulation" that you know how to use? Thanks :)

i downloaded the emulater you suggested and it does indeed seem to be better, and it does link. But my game on GEST isnt there on the new emulater. Is there a way that i can get my old game on the new emulater? I only have one copy of the ROM so im not getting two mixed up or anything like that.

Both emulators ought to produce the same native save format (.sav file). Copy this to where your save directory in BGB is pointing to.

Gest's save states are ST1 filesfor save states. BGB uses SN1 files for save states. Is it possible to convert or reformat the save states so that they will work properly?

If they are save states and not native saves, extremely unlikely. Save states are proprietary to one emulator.

If they are native saves, then rename the extension.

I would load up your save state in GEST then try and use the "save" option in the pokemon game itself and then look for the .sav that clements is talking about somewhere in the folder - that file should be portable between the emulators.

i found two .sav files in separate folders.but i dont know how to get the other emulater to load it. i tried to rename the save state but the emulater still wouldnt accept it. it said there was an I/Q error. anyhows imunclear on what im supposed to do with the .sav files.

When you own the real system, games have battery back-up and saves can be stored. The .sav files simulate this. To load a .sav, you don't need to touch a single option in the emulator, but only within the game itself.

With a game such as Pokemon, you can save at any point in time in-game, so save states with the emulator are pretty much redundant, and I suggest you never use them.

Post all the save files here, and then we can see if they are your game or not.
