a alternative to windows movie maker2 beta

does anyone know of any good movie editors.... something like windows movie maker....but one that dosnt suck... oh yes and if not does anyone know how to convert windows audio media files to something i can use like hmm anything else...i have blaze media Pro 2001 but it dosnt even have an option to convert the windows audio video files to anything.

What I usually do is run the wma files through winamp using the Disk Writer plugin, that way they get converted to wav files, then you can do more with it.
