Didn't realize it got that far even. Then again, a good part of that is just setting the right stuff to the right address spaces. The software end of things is relatively well documented at least.
Well, at the very least that would imply it wasn't a disk-access error. Stupid question, but did the stage crash after the stage select screen (the line-drawing of the stage), when you went to play it? Both the editor and DD/EE tracks utilize sound files that aren't present on the cart. Then again, it also would do a quick write or two to sram in both cases, wouldn't it? Could be redirecting the write to the 64DD space, which would fail due to write-protect. In either case, the stage would have already loaded in order to make the squigle you see on the track select screen.
Just speculation. It's always interested me, ever since losing an auction on ebay a few years back ;*)
Has anyone used the same method to rip out the sim city expansion? Most rumours of dumps are bumpkis, which is why I ask. That is particularly interesting since could would reveal the structure wrapping image data from the artist series.
-oh, if you have a chance, could you dump out the RDRAM of it on the track select window? It would aid in activating the track select menus so GS-uploaded stages don't need to replace anything any longer.
