Newsflash, most game places do the same thing. If people weren't such clepto-fucktards, companies would let live product on the shelves. Thank the thieving douchebags for why stores gut product before they put it out and don't take it out on EB.
I'm aware that Gamestop does the same thing (sometimes) which also pisses me off, but every game I've bought from GS has been sealed, and every game from EB has been gutted. I am inclined to blame the stores. Are you saying they couldn't get an emtpy display case from the game companies? Toys R Us does.

Gamestop does it just as much as EB, they need display cases too. When we get display cases, we use them in lieu of the actual cases but not everyone sends out display cases for us to use. All the Toys R Us's that I've been to had their games behind glass cases or in those clunky plastic anti-theft things like Circuit City. Regardless, I'm sorry that you've had bad luck getting games from EB.

I can only cite my own personal experience with both stores (locally). If Gamestop ever attempts to sell me a gutted game I'll turn it down. Despite their claims, the condition (again, in my experience) is never as pristine as you'd expect from a *new* game.

I suppose I shouldn't be so hard on EB though. I have found some good deals on used games.

gamecube's wicked... i used to not know anyone with an xbox. but then i came to uni and got addicted to Project Gotham Racing for 5 months. :icecream:

it sometimes makes me sad that there are so many games out there, that you can't help but miss out on some of the great ones.

ever since my buddies and i started to play warcraft3 online again, i haven't touched a console or emulated game :(. although we've played tons of multi N64/PS1/PS2 (with multitaps), i still have this huge list of N64 single player games and RPG's that I swear I will one day finish/try :p.

Two more purchases. I managed to score a new/sealed copy of Ikaruga on eBay. w00t. :)
There should be a safety notice. "WARNING: This product contains a quote from IGN. May not be suitable for discerning gamers, or people with an IQ over 6."

You can just see the value of copies of Ikaruga suddenly dropping dramatically when people realise that... ;)

Picked up Vexx tonight for 19.01 and Super Mario World for 6 dollars.

No idea what vexx is, but considering that Super Mario world is something like 12 years (?) old, you should get that one that cheap. :)

Wow, Stalkid says that IGN is bad. Maybe I should stop reading it or something.
Uh... I'm really not alone on that one. Quite like a few things of late.

I don't care if you're alone or not. I'm just sick of your annoying elitist attitude. I happen to like IGN because they share my taste in games, and I really don't need random Internet know-it-alls like yourself to put down my intelligence because IGN shits on the games that you like.

I'm not one to jump on the "IGN sux" bandwagon either. Seriously, what makes them so much worse than other review sites? What egregious act did they commit that makes some people loath to even mention their name?

Emutalk Bounty Hunter.
Vexx is kind of like Mario sunshine if you gave mario awesomely large claws and combo moves instead of a water gun, it's not bad, worth the 19 bucks.

Again... it's not just me, and why shouldn't I say something defending another joke that has been chosen to get out of context, I never once mentioned and fail to see what this had to do with your intelligence, and exactly what games are you referring to by games that I like?

IGN reviews are often inaccurate. That's the issue not just myself, but many people have with them. (To quote a penny-arcade cartoon) "*IGN score based on incomplete and largely imaginary code."
The fact IGN discussed, for a random example, a new Hoth scene in Empire Strikes Back in their boxset review that it turned out doesn't even exist at all, means I stand by this idea. They often criticise a game, regardless of playability, simply because it doesn't sit at an unnecessary 60fps, which is absurd. IIRC Rogue Leader (Oh crap... another SW related example...) was turned on for that reason, or for a one-in-a-million bug on the training level when many games get away with far worse. I don't like that style, and why that has pasted me as elitist I'm not sure.

I don't have a problem with people who like IGN. Each to their own. I personally dislike IGN for these kind of reasons, and so do others. That was all I said.

I happen to like IGN because they share my taste in games
Of course, people always like it when they're agreed with all the time. :whistling

Kinda a weird coincidence, but I just (today) was doing some cleaning, and I found mint-condition booklets that came with my snes. The SNES booklets, Mario World, Mario Allstars. We're talking about unopened, sitting in a droor for about 11-12 years, and a couple things I collected over the years. Most I got rid of, but I managed to keep this stuff. I still have my snes, but the only games I have for it are FF3(6) and Chrono Trigger. And the Super Metroid book? It looks crappy because I got it used a looooong time ago, and found that not too long ago either.
