What's new

1964 0.9.9 Is Out!!

ScottJC

At your service, dood!
Perhaps changing video plugins would work Mystic? Try Jabos Direct3d or changing settings for 5.2.0, my screenshot of Wetrix was from Rices 5.2.0 :p

As for easymode's post;
Some games supposed to work dont here (ie top gear overdrive)
Try PJ64 then, or mess with the ini settings.
F-zero vehicule textures are not there (rice).
I think you'll find that is not something to do with 1964, Jabo's Direct3d also has vehical texture issues, is that 1964's fault as well? this is a video plugin issue.
Sometimes emu hangs and i have to crtl+alt+sup.
Provide your Specs, it isn't likely anyone can help you with those problems, but I don't get many game hangs.
Sound issues on most games.
Sound plugin issue, again nothing to do with 1964.
Disappointed, i am.
Go write your own emulater then, and see how hard it is, and you can't please everyone, stop being so ungrateful, most of the problems you're having are to do with plugins!

oh and some little advice for all you people out there:
Start DK64 on CF5 and in game change to CF3. This is the only way you can play this game.

I'll try that trotterwatch.

I have tried it out and I still get some graphics errors and low framerate in the pause screen on OOT. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark have some serious graphics problems and I can't get some games to work like Megaman 64 and Tony Hawks Proskater using certain plugins. I don't know, but if I figure out how to fix it I'll post it on here.

Try messing with the combiner/blender modes, 1 on 1 off, other on other off, both on and both off.

Goldeneye is near perfect with Rices, PD is near perfect but has 'disco lighting' in some areas. Megaman64 I never noticed a prob, and Tony Hawks I'd advise you to use Jabos D3D 1.5.1 for that. Although I thought the issues in those games was fixed by the latest Rices.

The OOT slowdown is caused by the framebuffer you can disable it to get rid of the slowdown. You could also try GLN64.

I'm also having graphics problems. If I use Rices plugin in DirectX mode it gives me an error saying it couldn't find DX8 and If I run it in OpenGL mode I get graphics bugs in pretty much all games I have.

I'll leave one of the testers with a GF3/4 (non MX) to answer this one.

In the meantime I suggest perhaps changing the color buffer to the other type, and manually selecting High end combiner and not the Geforce one.

I don't know trotterwatch, I have tried all of that and the graphics are still screwed up with goldeneye and perfect dark. I got Megaman working now, but the graphics in goldeneye is pitiful. I guess this plugin wasn't meant to work with the fx5200. Were there any testers who had the same gfx card? I could really use some help if there is.

Could you do me a favour and post a picture of what is happening so I have a better idea of what is the matter?

Unfortunately I have a Radoen 8500 at the moment which has probs with Rices plugin (only introduced at the last minute - and found by several testers).

Here is what Wetrix looks like for me with Rices plugin in OpenGL mode. Combiner type on "OpenGL for nVidia GeForce or better" and everything else on default.

er.....authors of 1964, please don't hate me, but I too need some help. Why is it that the frame-skip is so fickle? It works with some games, but doesn't do a thing with ZOoT! Also, do I REALLY have to play my games all over again with 1964? I've gotten so far with PJ64, but I can't use my save files or mem card! Please help me out. Thanks, and I'm sorry.

Use the high end combiner, see if that works.

Not really sure. One thing though ensure you have any framebuffer options off (which I am sure you already do). Maybe someone here will have some better advice though.

I don't see a high end combiner for OpenGL mode, only in DirectX mode (and DX mode is still saying I don't have DX8 installed). I tried all the OpenGL combiner modes and none work.

My bad, use OpenGL 1.4, if that doesn't work use 1.3/1.2 I don't believe the Geforce combiner is meant for higher end Geforce cards (and for the purposes of N64 emulation, a GF3 is high end).

As for the DX8 issue - I have an idea, but it involves deleting the old reg entries for Rices daedalus.

Same here, I get a message DX8 could not be initialized. I'll go and play with the settings for awhile and see if I can get it to work.

EDIT: the color depth has to be 16bit, otherwise it'll give me the error.

Try deleting the old Rice Daedalus Reg keys located here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DAEDALUSD3D8_Rel3
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RICEDAEDALUS520
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RICEDAEDALUS510
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RICEDAEDALUS440
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RICEDAEDALUS4

See if that helps. Last I checked the plugin out on a GF3 was pretty early in the beta test, when I was in the UK on my other computer. The plugin worked perfectly then.

One last suggestion try changing the depth buffer from 16bit to 32bit

The only one I saw in my registry was "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DAEDALUSD3D8_Rel3" and deleting it didn't help. :(

Tell you what, if the others weren't even in your registry thats very wierd :/

From my above post which may have gone un-noticed due to it being an edit:
