Well it was unsafe it didn't have any supports.... oh

Got to love the family blaming the owner of the home. Doesn't matter if it was in unsafe condition really, he shouldn't have been anywhere near it.

It's like a case here in my country. A nicaraguan guy was trying to steal something in privaete property, but there were some Rottweiller dogs there that killed him. The police arrived but too late and was unable to do something, because they didn't shot the dogs because of the high risk of killing the man with the shot. Then, the Nicaraguan government accused Costa Rica of having xenophobic discrimination and practices against human rights.

I would say yes it was stupid.
Not a complete Darwin award. The family was acusing the owner of letting the house being in bad enough shape that the thief would want to steal the supports for scrap.

All in all it was stupid he must have been desperate, but it might be likely he had a controling substance 'issue'. I remember asking people for there date of birth in the US, when they bought cold medication. Because now it's a law you can't buy cold medication unless you are over a certain age. Too many people making Meph in there house (and blowing up the neighbors).

However I disagree with them in legal terms of calling it an acident. It is technically an incident. His death was the result of a roof falling on him, from removal of the maintaining support structure.

Unfortunately it looks as if those reporting the incident are incapable of knowing the difference.

This kinda reminds me of what happens where I live. Thieves recently and more than one occasion, stole copper wiring from train lines. Apparently copper is very expensive and people are going to desperate lengths to get it, even risking electrocution.

To my knowledge no one has been killed, proably because they are experienced in the trade but the risks still remain and accidents can still happen.

But if someone did die and their family tried to sue the train company that would be just plain stoopid.

I think shooting them off the rails would be appropriate, just post signs "you may be shot for attempting to remove these lines." Then shoot them when they do. It's worth the effort, and besides they know they shouldn't be doing it. They are causing 10 times the amount of damage for the money they get out of it. $100 worth of copper $1000 or more in damage. Shooting them is appropriate.

Yes it's crazy the lengths people go to steal things. Right now in Australia we're in a drought and have water restrictions.

The Government encourages people to have water tanks but that is causing problems such as people stealing them and other people being angry that these people with green lawns are water hogs, even though they are in their right to use all the water they like from their own tanks.

So some people with tanks are receiving hate mail and getting their lawns, cars, houses vandalised from these morons. On the other side there's people who waste water and they too get the same result. So on top of road rage we are now getting water rage!

It's going to be interesting to see how people act when our water levels go even lower, its like 38% or something left in the major catchments atm? Kinda scary when there is still so many people being silly with it.

Our lawns here are still mostly green, we have one of those 'grey water' recycling thingys, at least it's set up for the kitchen/laundry anyways, every bit helps I guess.

Man... sad

I was reading this old saying "A man in his own perspective is always right."
That sounds like exactly the problem they are having. Although people have water tanks and are using them for concerving water. Where as the people vandalizing etc. are angry likely because they don't have the tanks to use said water and didn't conserve water to begin with. Yet they demand the other people share. It's an age old problem. It sounds like the wild west in the US.

I wouldn't say people are making meth with cold medicine as much as they are overdosing on it for the effect of the active chemical, "DXM".

Around here, it's very common for people to steal cold medicine, especially robotussin, in order to get the amount necessary for the effects they want. :(

The cold medicine he's likely referring to are decongestants that contain pseudoephedrine. Now you have to give your license info and other such things to get decongestants with this ingredient - makes it hard when you have sinus congestion :(
