OK:
2 questions.

1:
I have recently downloaded Dolphin and SuperSmashBros Melee. When i start it the it's godawfull slow. (of course.) But after reading some here and lowering everything I have managed to get it to about 30 in the meny systems so i can look around atleast. - But in the game it goes down to 3 - unplayable. Everwhere i read here it says that Dolphin is slow, but is it really supposed to be this slow?

I mean - are you guys playing on this thing at this speed, or have you actually gotten it to run faster? I get it, it's slow - but i'm hoping there's some option or plugin that i can use to atleast make it playable. Because you all play it right, unless you all accept it being 2-3 fps and slowmo?

2:
If possible; how can I use both keyboard and gamepad? I can use either of the two, but how to use both at the same time? You know - 2 player.

Cheers.

Tinkering around with dynarec and tick settings may squeeze out another fps or two, but you won't get playable speeds with current PCs (unless you consider < 5fps playable).

So, to summarize, there is no one in this entire forum, who has managed to play the game at playable speed. Everyone plays the games in slo mo. So, it is quite impossible to have fun by playing games on the emulator. So basically, there is no point to downloading the emulator at all, unless you want to just test it out and see what it's like and tinker around. But apart from that, there is no reason what so ever that people would want to use Dolphin to have fun. Well, this is the impression I have so far anyway.

Sorry I'm not sure how to use a keyboard and controller simultaneously, but I'll try messing around and see if I can get it to work.

Dolphin was newer meant to give users the ability to play games (often illegally obtained, no less) at original speed. The purpose of the emulator (like with any other emulator) is to emulate the target hardware as accurately as possible. Being able to boot and run games is just a side-effect of successful emulation (far from accurate in Dolphin's and most emulators' case, but still).

Nor had PJ64 been, but just look at how far it's come.

So what's the main point to developing an emulator?

The challenge of making something designed for a different architecture work on the PC. A challenge for the developers--something fun and hard to do.
