Zelda: Majoras - Lens of Truth

Hello, I'm playing through Zelda Majora's Mask using Pj64 and so far it's been pretty good fps wise (well as good as a GF2 can give) anyway I have just got the Lens of Truth and while using it I get massive FPS decreases, nearly unplayable, this only happens when the Lens of Truth has found something and i'm looking at it. Is this a known problem or is it just my GF2 can't handle it well? Or a setting that could fix this up?

I'm using Jabo's D3D6 1.5 Video plugin, Jabos 1.5 sound and NRages V2 1.82a controller input.

Specs:
WinXP Pro
GF2
P3 1000
256SD Ram
