OK, fair enough guys. It's a natural thing that everyone here probably has a personal favorite among the current consoles. SNES vs. Genesis was a pretty nasty fight too back in the day.
FWIW, I own an SNES, Saturn, 2 Playstations (one's my stepson's), a N64, and a GC, plus my PC. I play just about any kind of game I can get my hands on - notice I'm the guy that started the thread about Rave Racer on Viva Nonno. If you ask me what's my favorite console of the moment, which someone did when they posted that thread .. well you know the answer. But THIS thread about the volleyball game was basically conincidence ... I just thought the sales pitch was interesting. In other words, I would have posted the thread no matter which console the volleyball game was on because I just thought it interesting that Sega was pitching their game at least somewhat on the appearance of their characters. The whole "wonder if there's a code" thing was meant as sarcasm, not to be taken literally.
As for the "saggy pants" thing, I'm sorry if any of you took that personally. I just think it's a bit of a shame that so many teenagers (and I was no different when I was that age) base their opinions so much on consensus with the group. One guy trying to prove how grown up he is won't try the Nintendo out because he wants to distance himself from the Pokemon games he played 8 years ago so he's proclaims "Dude, that's for kids." And so of course all the others agree because they don't want to be called a kid themselves. Never mind that the system has some great games out and even better ones coming soon.
When I was 18 at a keg party I was talking with a friend about the NES which had just come out and was obviously better than the Atari. A guy named Vince who had just gotten his girlfriend pregnant and been forced to get married said, "That stuff's for kids!" Maybe he was just rationalizing in his own mind that he was an "Adult" now and his situation was better than us who hadn't "grown up" yet ... but I knew he was screwed. Because of his attitude he probably never enjoyed another video game again.
Now that I'm getting older than dirt (to you guys anyway), I appreciate the fact that when I fire up a game I can pretend I am a kid again.
