Wow, I have got to start shopping at Fry's.

The problem is that the nearest Fry's in my area is almost an hour away by car. I am not always willing to go that far for good prices.

I am just about to start to build my first system, although i have pretty much changed and fiddled with everything with my last couple of computers, so far i have just purchased the case and haven't set myself a time limit to build it .I guess i am sitting back waiting for newer technologies .. anyways here's a pic of the case

for approx $999 i built this bad boy:
(including everything, 19" monitor, 4' kenwood speakers, and a quad stereo that i got from a garage sale for $5 that just needed a fuse and plays incredibly well... :D)

my case is a hiddeous little thing though, i'd much rather have bodies.. .lol

here's what my upgraded computer might look like.

New parts:
AMD Athlon XP 2200+
ASUS AV78X
Kingston 512MB PC2700 DDR RAM
Enermax FS-501BBS case w/ 300W PSU
cost w/ tax & shipping: ~$500-600

The rest of the parts will be from my old computer. That is just a rough estimate price atm. The price will probably go down by a lot since I will be getting it after Christmas time. I might also think of getting a new burner and/or video card if the money allows.

I'm going to build me a new system a few months after the NV30 is available.

Right now I only use a laptop with a p3 1ghz (they didn't make laptop athlons at the time), 256mb pc133 ram, gf2 go, 8x dvd, 20 gig hdd, and a 15.1" uxga tft lcd.

Oh, and of course it has tvout and digital audio (S/PDIF) out :p

Tux needs you!
I built my PC a couple of weeks ago, I had an old PIII 450 and now I have an Athlon 2200+@512Mb DDRAM, that's all I've done bacause the other parts were good and they're good enough so i kept them.
