What does the dummy file do? Will the game works on the real Dreamcast if it is removed? I believe the game still works in Chankast.

Thank you

Yes, it'll still work on the Dreamcast. The only reason it is added is because most CD-ROM drives read data faster from the outside, and the dummy file is there to full up the inside space, basically pushing the rest of the important data to the outside (making read times faster).

I see. Thanks for the info. How much faster will the CD-ROM read the CD if the dummy file is intact? Will it be just a second or two? Or will it be a huge impact (e.g. 2x faster)?
