Unable to load save state

Is there a way I can get my save state back, or to restore it? I really don't know how it happened too, I saved the game correctly and didnt close the prog (I think, correctly)

Edit: Could this be because I had only 48KB of free space on my HDD at the time? I wonder if it requires the full 1.58MB of space (which the save file was) but Im not sure if that much addition was made to the save file. I just deleted about 5 Gigs of stuff now, wish I had that before :/

48kB?? That HD was packed full. Yeah, you need a minimum amount of space for any save, and states are naturally larger. Obviously you can't load or recover what probably wasn't created to begin with.

I had like 20 hours on that game, and I probably saved every few minutes. kinda bummed :/
