Set the Counter Factor

Is there a way to set the counter factor to always be 2? I have tried changing CF on game but they all revert to their default settings

Right click the rom name> Rom Properties> Counter Factor

The changes will stick.

Is there a way I can set the default CF? I'd like all games to run at 1x1 which is silky smooth.

you can run a search and replace through the entire ini, changing each counterfactor line to 1. The problem with this method is that some games do not load without the correct counter factor specified. If that's a risk you're willing to take, then go for it.
