I come back with news from GameFAQs. I know for a fact that at least some of you have used the site.
It's with great sadness that I tell you that Chris MacDonald, aka Kao Megura, has died. I do not know the ramifications of the death (the family has decided against releasing details), only that he died on Monday.
It's a sad day. I did not know Chris personally, nor his brother Charles (who is involved in the emulation community), but this is sad. Chris is a practical hero to the entire gaming community, responsible for not only informing an entire new generation of gamers how to get through the most popular game of the 1990's (Final Fantasy VII), but also fighting publishers when his works were being illegitimately used. His contributions are many.
He also served as an inspiration to many FAQ writers, including (indirectly) myself. I send my condolences to his family.
