Project 64 doesn't now after Windows update???

Hey folks,

I have Windows XP and I've been using Project 64 1.6 for over six months now without a problem. But this morning Windows downloaded an update (I have mine set to automatic) and now P64 freezes up and closes out 30 seconds into every game. What changed and how can I fix this?

Uninstall the update. I know, sounds harsh, but that's pretty much the only thing you can do since there is no way of knowing what changed. Besides, if Windows Update made the emulator to stop working correctly, that's hardly a Project64 issue.

Well, one thing is to wait for another update and hope that installing that one will fix everything, although that is a slim hope.

I went ahead and did a system restore and everything seems fine now. It's just a shame I lost all of those important system updates. It just seems like every time I stick my hand in the honey jar it comes out piss.
