Problem in Mischief Makers

I'm up to the level called "The Day Of" . But this level is virtualy unfinishable because the game freezes at the start of the "Hurdles" event. I there any way I can solve this problem so I can pass this level.

Make sure you have a good rom and you have the latest RDB update installed.

I do have the latest RDB update. I know this is a good rom because I have redownloaded it heaps of times and still get the same problem in project 64
