please help controller problems

I'm using a n64 controller with usb adapter. All the buttons register with the pc so I can completely calibrate it but when i try to configure the controller in the emulator it reads every button except the down c button. Any suggestions?

Are you positive the C-down button is registering? (It's not tested as part of Windows' calibration. Under the game controllers list in Windows' control panel you can check the properties for your controller and all button presses should cause an indicator to light up or move on the screen.)
