Anyone got any suggestions for this problem, in zelda64 im am at the part where you gotta catch a big fish to get the gold scale, and cant hook a fish and i think it might be cause my controller is non analog, ive tried this numerous times, so i am for sure i can not hook a fish.

Hi!

I also noticed that in some games it is quite necessary to get better control. Most of the N64 games are created for analog controls. Sometimes (like in Zelda) it a matter of pixels to achieve a goal.

Another point is that gaming with an analog rumble pad is jaust more close to the original N64 - a matter of fun!

I went out and bought a LogiTech WingMan RumblePad - use the NRage input plugin and get ready to rumble. Just works perfect - of course with other games too.

One thing I've noticed around ET lately.. Whenever someone has a problem, we are fast to suggest that the person go buy something. Doesn't always work for the person we are talking to. In this case, Cozmo, I would suggest that you set your mouse for the analog stick, and see if you can get it to work that way, since it's more of an incremental movement.

I do really agree. There is always a working and maybe priceless solution or compromise.

On the other hand there is a really cheap solution in this matter (should be around EUR 30,-) with the pad.

for some of us, that's cheap. For those living in south america, it's about 120$. besides that, the average age on here is about 17, not like most of the 17 year olds can just blow 30$ on a controller.

Oh, please. Not that kind of stuff. Even an 17 year old can decide which way to go i.e. "blow 30$" or not. This forum can and should show as many ways to solve a problem as possible. The decision is up to the one who asks.

If you want to buy a pad, get one of the new Saitek pads... www.saitekusa.com Look at the P880, P2500, and P3000. They work incredibly well, and are especially great for N64 emulation (six face buttons!).

That is, IF you want a pad.

The lowest model with dual analogue is the P880 which is US$20 retail.

Am I really reading this????. Youre for sure one of the few persons in emutalk that understand about the world we're living in.

And cozmo, keep trying!!!. I also have a crappy 8 button pad, and I had to try like for 3 hours in a row till I finally caught the damn fish (well, actually my lil sister did it in 30 mins  )

Not in south america. Its not gonna cost 30$ there. It's gonna be 120$, and he will be stuck with what he has. I try to give solutions that might work with what they HAVE, not what I can go buy off the shelf for 20 bucks.

If it is as you say, then for once try importing stuff. Computer hardware is the same the world over. It comes about to be cheaper in the end. Why don't you try?
