It was running fine a few months ago, then it started lagging tremendously...

I searched all over for answers tof ix lag (settings) but found nothing.

I used some settings from a site before that gave me the best performance possible, but I can't find it anymore >_<

Can anyone give me the best settings for 60 FPS and no lag please?

Thanks in advance.

It would be helpful if you would show us the percentages displayed at the bottom of the PJ64 window so we could know whether it was the emulator or the video plug-in causing the problem. I'm suspecting you may have enabled the frame buffer option in Jabo's plug-in.

Hi,

My experience (on a lowly VIA EPIA mini-itx board) is that Project64 is just too much for the things, especially using the on-board video...

BUT 1964 runs a treat, although there are fewer roms that work.

The performce difference is enough around 50% faster so a 40fps Pj64 rom will run 60fps in 1964.

I have no idea why via epia boards show such a difference between the two .

via cpu´s stinks, poor performance for games, partial support of MMX.

1964 requieres less CPU, pj64 much more

The FPS was refered to as VI/s here, because as you can remember, Pj64 1.6 displays the short term "FPS" where it count the VI/s. It stands for "Fields Per Second" or something similar, I'm not sure, but is easily mistaken for Frames Per Second.

yeah i know.

im just saying that most n64 games don't run over 40fps in reality (im talking about using Fraps)

There are N64 games that run up to 60 true FPS in-game. F-Zero X is one of them. Other games also have a variable FPS that is scene dependent which can be as high as 60 FPS.

Well, plenty of simpler games (inc. Most 2D games) ran at 60fps (or up to 60fps).

Bomberman 64
Bomberman Hero
Dr Mario
F-Zero X
Goldeneye 007
Mischief Makers
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Perfect Dark
Pokemon Puzzle League
Puyo Puyo Sun 64
Wonder Project J2

I believe so at the moment, yes. They did not achieve the speed through hacks, however. But 1964's core needs more work to fully support more games.
