Toad Town is not the only place tha flickers.
Other places flicker too, and when you get to dark areas, the characters are totally black. Also, toad town is a very important place in the game, since it even is a whole chapter (chapter four)

Who knows? if he uses email notification. But I dont understand people playing games using walkthroughs. They just flatten the game and take out the tension. However, walkthroughs are useful for finding some little stuff like papermario star pieces and zelda´s heart pieces. Of course they should be used not until one simply can´t figure anything out of the game anymore. Or if the reason to play the game is to only walk it through.
