New Video Card...

I've been thinking for about a year now... My video card sucks. A lot. It's at least 4 years old. Now I want a new one. With no budget limitations, what's the best I can get? How about with a $300 (approx.) limit?

The best video hardware would be 7800GTX in SLi, which costs in the region of $800.

With $300, you can get a 6800GT.

yea, on this nz auction site i saw a 7800GTX (pci express) which supports pixel 3.0 at $790.00 :: another one which $705.00 odd dollars very good...

With $400 you could get a 7800GT, which uses the same core as the GTX and can be unlocked to support some of the features as the GTX. Newegg will also throw in a free nForce4 motherboard. Sounds like a heck of a deal to me.

According to Unwinder, author of Rivatuner, you cannot unlock the masked units in the 7800GT. It is still faster than a 6800 Ultra though.

Yipee! In about two years I will have enough money for a video card! But by then it will be outdated, yay!
