My friend is having trouble with a plugin

Hi, my friend and I are trying to play SSB. However, I just got a N64 controller adapter and I need to use N-Rage's Direct-Input8 V2 2.1 rc3 plugin. I have Vista and it's working just dandy.

But, when we tried to play each other online, it wouldn't work because we figured he needed the plugin as well. He downloaded it, then he need to download a dll file. It still wouldn't work, so we did more research and it turns out he needed to install 2 dll files. He did so and no luck. So he moved them from his system32 folder to his plugin folder under Project64 and he got a bunch of errors from Project64. He is using Windows 7.

Could anyone help out with our problem?

2.1 requires MSVCR70 and MSVCP70 (or 71)
2.2 requires MSVCR80 and MSVCP80 (not released yet)

Yes, those are the two he downloaded. Now in order to "install" them, he just drags the downloaded files into the directory, right? Because that's what he did. He dragged them into the system32 folder first, then tried the plugins folder.

put them in syswow64 on x64.
and dependencies go into the app directory, not the plugin directory.
