i have read the faq and gone over all the similar topics i could find, and i still cant get shenmue to work. when i load the image into chankast it trys to play it like a music cd. the other topics on this problem said that i should use daemon tools 3.29, i tried that and my computer froze while it was installing ( from what i read DT3.29 has problems with service pack 2 which is what i have) so i tryed all the versions listed here

http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=8

from 3.29 to 3.46. all gave me one of the following error messages while being installed

with the exception of 3.46 which installed properly but when i mounted the game i had the same results described here

Change the menus to english by booting the BIOS and then going to Settings (The clock icon). Change the language from there.

but my language was already english. So basically im wondering if there is a way to get shenmue to play without daemon? or a way to get daemon to work on my computer?

Thanks

I was replying to the original poster when he complained that the menus were in spanish. My answer had nothing to do with the rest of his post.

Burn the game to a CD-R (or two) and use those.

Thank You! burning them to cds worked :bouncy:

as for the quote, i guess i misunderstood and thought you were saying that the language setting was the cause of the problem. i put it in there to avoid someone suggesting that as the cause of my problem, and also i have been reading through a lot of other topics where the reply is somthing like "read the faq" or "thats been asked before" and wanted to show i searched for the answer before posting about my problem.
