I've tested Glide64mk2 now on an Ubuntu 12.04 (using the provided ubuntu binary release) notebook with integrated intel and the i915 driver and it doesn't stretch (not talking about resizing but adhering to the --resolution-option) there either (this time it's a 1280x800 res), I've had a peek at the source but couldn't come up with anything specific in the short time that i could, will see if I can dig a little deeper someday.
