Mortal Kombat Gold problem help

Hi, sorry, I searched for this in old threads but I got threads from 2004. Is mortal kombat gold compatible already? If it is, my problem is I got a file in MDS or MDF format, not CDI, and when I try to play it says "this game does not support the av cable that is currently connected to the main console. Turn off the power and replace the av cable". Can this be solve with a plugin or something? Or is the game just not compatible?

Change the cable type to VGA to NTSC or vice versa.

Thanks, another thing. The game lacks sound. Is it me only or does the game really lacks sound, I mean still not emulated?

Most likely it isn't emulated. I really can't say.
