Might build a new system; could use some help

Meh...
I got an old 120gb hard drive still, and I'm only using 60% of the space. I'd be happy with that 160gb hard drive... Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JS. Uses one full 160gb platter, so it's pretty damn quiet, and one of the fastest drives out. It's on newegg for $53 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822144415

Oh, and sorry to dissappoint you Allnatural, you probably should've went for this memory. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220143

has a little bit better timings (4-4-4-12, rather than 5-5-5-18... OUCH!). It's within your budget, and it's a well known brand.

Well, 120 or 160 GB is not much for multimedia and game enthusiats.
Though the memory may be a tad slow, still, it's not the end of the world. It could be upgraded later, if wished. So can hard disks...

You've probably already ordered your system, but if you haven't then wait a little bit more as I hear AMD is due to give another price cut some time this month. You might be able to get the same CPU for cheaper, or get something a little better for the same price.

Yeah. I did plenty of research prior to hitting the "submit" button, and lower timings don't seem to have an appreciable impact on performance. Not enough that I'd notice (or care about) anyway. *shrug*

As for the hard drive... In the 2+ years I've had my current system I've only managed to fill about 100 GBs of the 160 GBs I have available, so 250 should be plenty.
