Mega CD question

I bought a MegaCD on ebay, can i play wth my backups burned on normal cd in console ¿? Or it need a special chip like psx

I can confirm that. I got the banned copy of Night Trap, copied the discs and put them away. Now when I play it, I use the backups, and they work without any modification to the console.
