Logitech Dual Action gamepad problem

I bought this gamepad like an year ago and I'm having some problems with the left analog stick, it moves by itslef, and when I try to play any game the charatcer moves to the left by itself. Due to this problem I will buy another gamepad (maybe) and I would like to know the best gamepad available. If there's a way to fix the Dual Action gamepad please tell me.

And the one that isn't cordless is as good as the cordless?

My Dual Action exhibited a similar problem, but I fixed it by removing the pad and plugging it back in.
