i've searched almost al the posts but what is a CD-ROM interface

CD-ROM Interfaces are what the CD-ROM plugins in Chankast are called (namely CDRom Interface xxx & CdRom Interface ASPI; the xxx one uses IOCTRL found in Win2000/XP and the ASPI one uses the ASPI driver that Win2000/XP don't support unless you install an ASPI driver first)..
